Laurel & Hardy get Handy!

We are preparing our laundry room for the arrival of custom cabinets, finally one room in this house will look like we want it to!  There was a large cabinet nestled in the corner of the room, which had to come out before the cabinet company could take a final measurement.

So, my hubby and nephew known in this post as Laurel and Hardy decided night before last at 10:30 to start this handy project.  Unfastening the cabinet wasn't a big issue as it secured to the wall with about (4) screws ( yep, some more of the fine craftsmanship that you discover when you purchase a low cost bid home..sigh)

Anyway, they soon realized it was too tall and wide to fit through the door, so it would require they saw it in half!

So out came the jig saw and my nephew (Laurel) began to saw.  As you can see by the dust in the picture saw dust was everywhere ( ha!).  Check out these facial expression of my hubby (Hardy) as the cabinet began to disintegrate in his hands...priceless!

They did it, it is cut in half and out of the laundry room.  We discovered once it was removed that they failed to tile the space under the cabinet, which means I am on the hunt for some not so flattering green-like marble to match it.

Who knows this may just be the motivation I need to rip this mess up and start afresh!  Stay tuned for more adventures, I am sure there are many more in store!
