So, I am still waiting on our photographer to deliver the disk with all the pictures she took of the Big Hawaiian Luau. We should have received them already, but alas we are still waiting. In the meantime, I thought I would post a few of the pictures I snapped as we prepared for the big event.
The arrival of the 40ft tropical palm tree slide. This took (6) guys unload it out of the truck, which was parked on the 'killer hill' we call a driveway. The company brought (2) guys with them, BT, along with Brad (20/20 Professional Services) and two from his crew had to help unload and wrangle it into the back yard.
Here is what it looked like once it was inflated with the splash pool attached. Up in the top right hand corner of the photo you can see the 30X40 tent we had as well. Brad strung lights in the canopy so we could see the kids. We put (6) 6ft tables with chairs under the tent and decorated it with Hawaiian themed table clothes, mini lanterns and blow up monkeys, crabs, beach balls etc.
Quick view of the back porch, as the DJ was setting up his sound equipment. I had (5) urns with palms and blue dazed stretched across the full length of the porch to lend a more tropical feel/look.
I got a deal on these hula girl cutouts, paid less than 2.50 for each. Mom and I hung them on the French doors to add a little color.
A quick shot of the 'man made' beach we created. It stretched 12 feet wide and 60 feet long. We had (4) thatched umbrellas secured by pvc pipes, Mom and I found these gems at the Party Store. We purchased beach sand chairs at the post at 75%, so regularly $40.00 we got them for $10.00. I had 'O" and her friend Brooke place shells in the sand from our numerous trips to the beach to lend a more authentic feel!
Where Tide Rolls and Eagles Soar Where Elephants stomp and Tigers Roar! Sweet Home Alabama!
