Say Hello to the Silver Medalist

Here are the Champions!

On April 5th, Bob Jones Winter Guard participated in the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit State Championship, held at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.  They placed 2nd in their class, earning a silver medal for their wonderful performance.  They were .2 tenths of a point shy of earning 1st place - Gold.

We are very proud of their performance and their accomplishments.  Over the course of the competitive season they were elevated into a higher division as a result of their performance excellence.  They took back to back supervisor/first place ratings heading into the state championships and triumphed over 6 other squads to earn a silver medal and a second place standing!

I have included a link at the bottom of this posting to an article, which appeared in The Madison Record.  It was written on April 10, 2013, and provides you with details on the show as well as their standings in prior competitions.

Photos were shot by me and it is one of my first 'official' works cited, though they spelled my name wrong (first name that is, they got the last name right...how did that happen?)

Alas there is no rest for the weary.  Guard camp for the upcoming marching band season began on Monday, with try-outs scheduled for Friday, April 12th.  We are excited about heading into a new marching season with a wonder sponsor and choreographer!   Congratulations Bob Jones Winter Guard - We are proud of you!   The Madison Record April 10th Edition
