It is that time of year, yep you guessed it "TAX TIME"...ugh! Now, many of you are asking "why are they so late, we had ours done and mailed by January 2nd?" Well, we send our taxes to an accountant we have utilized for the last (16) years who is in Leesburg Florida.
We have had about 100 exceptions to this tax year, so it was not time to even consider finding a local accountant to tackle our return, so alas we had to wait until our regular one starts working on personal taxes.
So the husband and I were up until 0100 this morning putting together the final numbers. He got up early so he could over night it to ensure we were one of the first returns on the CPA's desk. You would think it would be a relatively easy process given an accountant is preparing the return, but that really isn't the case. We have to complete a tax organizer, provide all of our supporting documentation, outline any changes, did I mention we had quite a few and make sure it reaches his office no earlier than March 23.
So, they are off and now we begin the 'wait and see' phase of our adventure in hopes we will get back some type of return, and hopefully no "TAX DUE" notices!
