Our daughter takes dance on Wednesday evenings, after dropping her off my mother and I decided to “sneak” down to Home Depot to check out some area rugs for our kitchen. After milling about for 30 minutes or so we decided to head down to TJ Maxx as we had a few more minute to burn before we could pick the kid up.
Upon cranking the truck, I turned to my mother and said “You know ‘B’ just said he need to have the battery checked in this thing as it is staring, but with some hesitation. He stated the battery could be trying to go bad.” Hmmmm….off we went.
In TJ Maxx and out, we were heading to pick her up, when I attempted (stress attempted) to crank the truck. It went crack, whip….snare…snare and click..click..click and then nothing. Yep, you guess it dead as four o’clock. OMG are you kidding me? What are we going to do now? We have 20 minutes until we are to pick up the kid, we are stuck at 8:10pm in the TJ Maxx parking lot and guess what we are new to town and know just about NOBODY!!!! Where is DOC or his lovely wife now? We need a lift and they are an entire state away ack!!!!
So, I call my hubby (guess you know how that conversation went) he told me to “breath” and to call our neighbor, and I did. Poor woman, I pulled her out of her home but she came willingly and picked me up, drove me to the dance studio to pick up the kid and then drove me home so I could pick up our other car (insert big THANK YOU here for our wonderful neighbor)!
Once home and car retrieved we were off to TJ Maxx to retrieve Mom! We got there and so did AAA within (30) minutes of when they said they would be there. The guy was super, prompt, clean cut and very friendly and knowledgeable. He connected the power pak and within (10) minutes we were ready to roll!
So, that was our night as eventful as it was. So glad the weekend is coming…I guess I can see a shopping trip in our future for a battery of course!
