What did you wash that sock with acid?

It has been busy around our house the past few days as my best friend and her family are in for a few nights enroute from their house in Pennsylvania to her grandmother's house in Arkansas. We have had a house packed full with (1) soon to be (14) year old, our soon to be (13) year old, a (4) year old and a (13) month old...talk about a big bundle of energy....whew!
Anyway, the kids were enjoying themselves in the front yard. The older ones were teaching the (4) year old how to shoot off a cap gun. The lessons were infused with plenty of time outs for snack breaks and the scarfing down of left over chocolate Easter bunnies.
It was during one of these breaks when I spied the bottom of Mister. (A) sock. I said to him "stick your foot up here, I must take a picture of the bottom of your sock." Much to his mother's chagrin he did as I asked and I snapped this photo.
Look at this thing....of course I had to ask the $64, 000 dollar question "what do you wash your socks in acid?" I thought his mother was going to fall off the step, only from the embarrassment a soon to be (14) year old can afflict. It seems there was a much simpler explanation he has taken up walking outside in his socks.
Well, I guess it is safe to say these won't be making it into the next round of laundry. I have a special destination planned for them....the trash can!
