The other day I was feeding "big dawg" a cookie when I notice "little dawg" was no where to be found. I went upstairs to down load some photos, when I notice Lulu was in peering out at me from the opening in her kennel.
Now, it is uncustomary for Lu to be in her kennel in the middle of the day unless she has been banished there for bad behavior. So without hesitation I peered into her kennel inquiring as to what was wrong (like she was actually going to answer).
What did I see staring back at me but this...............................................
Well that answered several questions.....like 1) Why she was missing in action when big dawg was chowing down on butter cookies and 2) Why my mother can never find a set of matching socks!
Of course I may have played a part in why she is such an refined and effective nabber of the socks. When she was young and she would discover a sock and have it in her mouth I would offer up a cookie in exchange for her sock booty. I didn't realize at the time that I was conditioning her to "steal" socks because she knew she would receive a tasty treat in exchange...my bad!
So now I have a very cute, very seasoned sock thief on my hands and yes before you ask she did get a cookie for surrendering the booty. My mother on the other hand didn't fair so well, all she got out of the deal was another pair of soggy socks.........sorry mom!
