Happy Birthday To Me!

Today was my birthday, so in keeping with the posting of well wishes to family and friends on their special day I am posting a "Happy Birthday To Me" post in honor of my special day!
My husband came home over the Fourth of July so we did our celebrating early. My hubby, Mom and Daughter purchased me a terrific new lens for my digital SLR! It is a 70mm - 200mm ED VR II low light monster and I am both excited and scared (they have high expectations) to use this thing!
My cohorts from work started my day off with a bang. When I arrived this morning and opened my office I found a scrumptious chocolate covered cake, flowers and many "singing" cards. My favorite was the Star Wars themed card our Sr. Manager gave to me with the sentiments that started of with ....A long long time ago......you were born! Ha, everyone is a comedian now days.
The Recruiting Dept and Ops team took me to lunch and when I came back I found a framed birthday print bearing all of their names and well wishes on my desk! I couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with they truly may the day a fun one even if I had to spend it working.
My mother and daughter took me to our favorite local grill and micro brewery for dinner and we topped off our flat bread pizzas and salads with their famous Sin City Brownie....it was yum right down to the last drop!
I have to say the highlight of my day was my trip to the Dept of Motor Vehicles to renew my license, which expired today. The lines were extending out the doors and I am not exaggerating when I tell you all "walks" of life were hanging out in these halls! I scored big when I was directed to the self-service kiosk to process my renewal online. I had to ask if I would still get a new picture (you know it is all about the picture) and when I found the answer was yes, I spent (5) minutes filling in the info, slapped in my credit card number and hit submit and waited for my name to be called for my new photo.
Twenty minutes start to finish and get this I scored a terrific picture "YES" from the DMV! I am so excited and to think I get to keep this one for five years. It is so good, I may elect to renew online in 2015 keeping my existing picture. Heck, they may have to make it mandatory I stop in to verify I can still see before I give up this picture!
So all in all I had a great birthday and I wanted to thank my friends, family and co-workers for their kindness and well wishes it was you who truly made the day special!
