Easter Eggstravaganza

I cannot believe how far behind I am with my postings. Our Internet connectivity has been sporadic at best and my posting has really suffered. I did not have a chance to post picture from Easter even...now that is pitiful.
Our daughter had a blast dying eggs with her friend from our neighborhood “J” the day before Easter They dyed some solid colors a few were two tones and a couple they customized with these snap dye sticks I purchased at Wal-Mart for .88 cents. They were the neatest things, they looked like q-tips and all you had to do was snap one end and the dye would run into the head of the opposite end.
“O” and I created “Easter Boxes” for my husband and his partners in crime who are serving overseas with him. I used flat rate boxes from the post office and lined them with biodegradable peanuts to create a little cushion. I took Easter basket bags and placed them in the boxes filling them with multi-colored Easter grass. O and I went to town adding assorted candies and handcrafted treats from my mother. We decorate the outside of the boxes a sure give-away as to the contents inside and sent them priority mail across the pond. I was so excited to find out they arrived in about (6) days flat, heck you don’t get that type of service trying to mail a letter across town any longer! My mother and I put the finishing touches on the special Easter surprises we made some special folks I work with and our daughter’s special friends. We made deliveries the week before Easter to ensure everyone received their goodies before the actual holiday. Our family went to the Country Club for brunch/lunch on Easter. They really have a wonderful buffet with more of a selection than I could ever cook at a price that is impossible to beat. As to be expected the Easter Bunny made his usually “pit-stop” at our home, and “O” scored big. You have to love the bunny’s ability to keep up with changing times and technology. Candy was always the staple in our basket. Now days it is electronic gadgets, computer games, CDs and the like. I think I will ask the bunny to visit me next year as I am really missing out on a good thing!
Friends made our holiday extra special and we are extra blessed that our daughter has several special people to shared these precious holiday moments with! We hope you and yours had Hoppy Easter holiday.
