Dollar Days where........at Lowes!

On Wednesday, after my surgery Mom and I stopped to grab something to eat as I was to nervous to do so prior to the event. We went to Chick-fil-a one of my favorites and I said "Hey after lunch do you want to ride by Lowes to look at the plants?" I figured this would be my only chance to "get out" over the next few days due to the giant size Frankenstein body work on my shoulder and since I was still numb from my neck down, I knew pain would not be an issue.
We jotted over to Lowes garden section, which was brimming with people. As we entered into the gates, I over heard two customers conversing about .50cent calla lilies. Little did I know that was just the "tip" of the iceberg so to speak. I asked the garden manager where I could locate some of those lilies at which time he told me that he was scheduled to receive (8) trucks on Friday and everything was slashed to go! All perennials were 50% off, and there was a plethora of plants, which were marked $1.00 to include English sage, purple and white salvia, Shasta daisies, tickseed, lobelia, cat mint etc. The wave petunias both single and double in the 2qt buckets were .50cents a piece, yep you heard me right .50 cents....BOOYAH what a score!
I found the yellow lantana I needed to plant in my flowerbeds by the driveway and mailbox at 50% off, and every perennial I needed to complete our perennial bed as well as a stock of plants to plant our wire hanging baskets and pots for our new patio.
I tell you a happier group of women could not be found at least not in our town. It made you laugh when you heard one customer say to another "look at my cart, see all these plants I have only spent $18.00! You can't go to Wal-Mart and get these types of plants for $18.00". No you can not. So upon leaving I placed some calls to our neighbors to spread the word about the "Great Dollar Day Sale" at Lowes. Several jumped in their cars to head that direction and as to be expected by the next day all was gone. Just goes to prove a great dollar sale and women with a mobile phone equals "sold out event"!
