Hey look at that.....

I finally  found a plumber who can work without showing any CRACK!  Ha, I could not resist!

My hubby spent the better part of the morning changing out gold faucets, which were the fixture of choice for the previous home owners ( ick).  I believe they were descendants of "Midas" as everything in this house that could be gold plated is...ACK!
I found the same faucets I installed in our house in TN, I loved them, they are made by American Standard and are the Neo Classical design.  What I like best if the nickel finish, not too dull and not too shiny just perfect.

Check out his woolly apprentice!  She really wasn't too much assistance, but she works cheap ( bacon flavored healthy edible bones) and is cute to look at!

Here are the pictures of the work in progress and the completed job, I think they make a world of difference in the way that vanity looks.  The nickel really ties in with the color of the granite and matches the color of the light fixtures they had installed ( I will have to include that photo later).

When we were looking at this house to purchase it, I said "oh, that gold is horrible, but it is just cosmetic and can be changed our."  That is true, but OMG how things have gone up.  Just last week we purchased silver knobs to go in place of the fold handles they had on the white cabinets.  We were unable to switch out the gold handles for nickel as they had used some odd size, which would have required re drilling or special order can you say 'No' to both.  So, we went with these polished nickel drawer pulls.  It only took (28) how expensive could that possibly be.  Let me tell you...$112.00 for drawer pulls, can you believe that crazy!  So, gone are the days when you think as a home owner you can make a few "cosmetic" changes and not empty out your wallet.  (28) drawer pulls and (2) faucets down and our wallets are a cool $350.00 lighter.  However, I must admit it makes our daughter's bathroom look so much better.

So bye bye to the gold faucets and handles, (2) down and (2) to go.  Now, I have to start shopping for nickel shower doors and new faucets for the tub/shower combo.  Good thing I found a great plumber and apprentice, they have plenty left to do!
