What will she say next?

Growing up one of my childhood favorite dishes was macaroni and tomatoes. Simple dish really, all it takes is some elbow macaroni, onions and diced tomatoes and some salt and pepper to taste. Not only was is one of my favorites, but it was one of my Dad's as well.
So not so long ago my mother decided she would make some macaroni and tomatoes as a side dish for our dinner to surprise me. Our daughter came bounding into the kitchen and in her normal "fashion" said...."What is for dinner?" Before my Mom could answer our daughter began poking her nose into the different pots ( I blame her father for this trait as he does the same thing) when she came upon the macaroni and tomatoes....the conversation went something like this.
Kid: What is that?
Grandma: Macaroni and tomatoes
Kid: What?
Grandma: Macaroni and tomatoes
Kid: Is that fit to be eat? Grandma: I beg your pardon!
Kid: Is that fit to be eat?
Grandma: Well, I certainly think so...I am not in the habit of making something that isn't "fit to be eat!"
When I arrived home from work I said "Something smells good, what is for dinner" her reply "Nothing that is fit to be eat!" I learned of the conversation and couldn't help but laugh as this was the first time "Miss Thing" had ever seen or had macaroni and tomatoes. Evidently, during dinner she must have decided it wouldn't kill her after all as she ate (3) helpings!
