Tonight, I took my daughter and her BFF to see the movie Up! I thought it would be a light hearted tale, which contains great 3D animation after all it was created by Pixar. What I failed to take into account is all roads lead to Disney, which means someone (usually the mother or main female character) will meet a tragic fate usually death. Yep, should have seen it coming, but alas I did not and so within the first five minutes of the movie I was already saying to myself "Man, this movie is a downer."
Now before I chalk this movie up as a total lost let me say it did have some amusing moments. I along with my group found ourselves laughing out loud several times, however the overall "down" theme ran throughout the course of the movie. For me the up moments were a little few and far between, which left me thinking I should have picked another movie versus this one.
Oh well, live and learn. The evening wasn't a total loss we did get to eat lots of buttery popcorn and even scored raisinets for our candy choice. You know everything is better when popcorn is involved!
