On Tuesday our daughter was chosen to participate in the Middle School Vacation Day. Actually, this was a reward for all middle school students who had earned good citizen awards for the fourth and final grading quarter.
So, what exactly did this entitle them to you ask? Why a day of no assignments, no homework, snacks, electronics and fun with their friends. So, as you can see by the picture she left for school on Tuesday morning loaded down and ready for fun. The list of essentials she took along that day were as follows:
- Hot Pink Lawn Chair
- Cooler packed with soda, extreme sour straws, pizza combos, chips and more chips etc.
- Beach towel
- Nintendo DS, I-pod, Flip video camera ( what did these kids do before electronic gadgets came along)
As we were departing for the school she turned to me and said "I am so glad it is vacation day, I have really earned this time off." I know....and all I had to look forward to was a hard day at work...which left me scratching my head thinking "when am I going to get a vacation day?"
